Guadalupe Aldrete is a Mexican artist based in Vienna whose work has been shown internationally. She is a multidisciplinary artist mainly active in the field of performance art, video and installation.
Her work process is based on the creation of ephemeral sculptures during performative processes executed by herself or by the audience. Thus in her installations, the participant plays the central role and give life to the work by activating the designed devices and reaction's chains. During her performances she transmits to the audience not just an image but the interest on her condition and the material qualities, its sounds, weight, flavour and textures.
Guadalupe is the creator and curator of “Latitud 32°N/55°S” a platform for Latin-American performance art. From 2012 to 2015 she collaborated and co-curated the platform “MPA-B, Month of Performance Art Berlin" and is co-founder of "APAB e.V.", Association of Performance Art in Berlin. She's also part of the performance network “PAErsche” based in Cologne.
